About Sarah Hynd

Sarah trained as a radiotherapy radiographer at the Middlesex Hospital and achieved her DCR(T) qualification in 1986. She has worked in clinical and managerial posts within the NHS and independent sector for over thirty years.

These include working as a clinical radiographer at the Middlesex Hospital in her early career, setting up the pre-treatment service at the newly formed Harley Street Clinic in the late nineties and as Head of Radiotherapy Services at UCLH between 2003 and 2007 which involved the move of a “whole hospital” to a new site. Between 2007 and 2015 her 8 year span with Cancer Partners UK (now GenesisCare) as their Head of Radiotherapy showed her to be instrumental in the set-up and successful running of 8 one-linac departments around the UK (the latter of which were in standalone medical centres) During early 2016 she held a short fixed term post as Head of Cancer Services for Spire Healthcare.

Thus she has supported the builds and moves of many new healthcare initiatives as well as fully comprehending all aspects of delivering world-class radiotherapy services where patients are at the centre. Her core skills may be applied to any service provider in addition to her expert knowledge in the field of radiotherapy. She set up her own business, Hynd Healthcare Ltd in November 2015 after leaving GenesisCare. During this time she has worked for some high profile clients. She is also a specialist advisor for the Care Quality Commission (CQC)

About Duncan Hynd

Duncan qualified as a radiographer at The Middlesex Hospital in 1982 and worked clinically in radiotherapy eventually starting Duncan Hynd Associates Limited (DHA) in 1995 after 10 successful years working in the industry.

DHA lead the way in Europe, establishing the very first CT virtual simulation systems, 3D treatment planning and Prostate seed implant services while acting as a successful representative office, agent and distributor for many leading European and North American Radiation Oncology and Radiotherapy Companies.

DHA added considerable value to its shareholders and customers investment by creating and continuing to develop niche products and services for the Radiotherapy and Medical Imaging fields. In 2001 DHA raised £500,000 in venture capital from OTVCT and others. In 2003 the company successfully launched the range of DIB shielding doors in the UK with many blue-chip clients such as the NHS and the British Museum.

In 2013 Oncotherapy Resources Ltd was created by Duncan, a new start-up company that provided the first ever mobile, managed radiotherapy service in the UK. The company employed the latest electronic brachytherapy systems to deliver SD-IORT or single dose intra-operative radiotherapy for early stage breast cancer at the time of surgery.
